SHOP OWNERS
Linda Reed - Linda caught the sewing bug as a young girl. Seeing the beautiful creations being made by her mom and five older sisters, she couldn't wait to be able to use the sewing machine. She spent many years sewing her own clothing and added home dec projects along the way. When her Mom ventured into the quilting realm, Linda was so inspired by this new avenue she had to test the waters. Linda took one rotary cutting class and there was no turning back! Quilting soon became an obsession.
Linda loves all aspects of quilt construction and still marvels at the creativity and new techniques constantly being introduced. Having her own quilt shop has been a dream for many years.
Linda is supported by her husband, Stu, daughter Kelsey and her husband Troy, along with their daughter Ziva as well as her son Nathan and wife, Stephanie.
Mendi Simon - A third generation quilter, Mendi loves the bright and colorful fabrics available for quilting today and joining them with other fabrics and threads to make visually appealing quilts and other items. She hopes that The Village Quilt Shop can help area quilters find special and unique fabrics while also providing a place to socialize and learn new techniques.
A native of West Virginia, Mendi and her husband, Gary, have made their home in Central Florida for the past six years. Mendi's other passions include spending time with her grandchildren, playing golf, traveling, and knitting. She has two sons, Jordan (Ashley) and grandsons Malakai and Maverick; and Isaiah (Esha) and granddaughter, Natalia, and grandson, Reed.
