Oct. 1 - Lunch and Learn - The Art of Sashiko
In this Lunch and Learn session we'll be talking about the art of Sashiko embroidery and it's place in quilting. Meaning "little stabs" in Japanese, Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique used for both decorative and functional purposes. Get a chance to start your own Sashiko embroidery piece, learn about thread, needles, and different uses for this beautiful needlework. This session will be 60-90 minutes in length. Lunch is included! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

DB180: Sept. 11-12 Intro to Studio 180 - The Tucker Trimmer
Do you have a Tucker Trimmer ruler in your quilt room that you picked up somewhere along the way? Have you heard about Deb Tucker Studio 180 Tools and wondered what they are all about? Â Join us as we welcome Donna B. as an instructor at TVQS. Donna has years of experience with all things Studio 180 and all of Deb Tucker's rulers. You're going to love her! In this class we will learn all about the Tucker Trimmer I - a tool for making multiple sizes of half- square triangles, quarter-square triangles (hourglass units), and combination units with precision. Â We'll get familiar with the ruler making basic HSTs and combination units and then take it a step further using two different Studio 180 Techniques to make non-mirror combination units and a shaded 4-patch into a 12-inch block. Skill level: Confident beginner

Have you ever wanted to make your very own quilted shoes? TVQS has researched patterns, soles, and methods over the past several months and we've come up with a great class to get you into your very own custom sneakers! Our next sneaker class is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26 at TVQS. Class will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday and go until 4 p.m. On Saturday, we will begin at 9:30 a.m. to finish assembling your shoes.
